         38.              KNIFE-THROW ING AT THE CIRCUS
            Knife-throwing  is  a  thrilling  circus  act,  which  is  stressíul  for  both  the
         thrower  and  the  assistant.  Obviously,  assistants  need  to  be  especially
         courageous,  since  they  are  (1)  ______to  stand  in  front  of a  board  as  knives
         land  next  to  them  at  (2)  ______  speed.  If  a  thrower’s  aim  is  not  accurate,
