Safety rules are very important in the job. They are important
for both factory workers and office workers. When you begin a
job, you should learn the safety rules right away. There are sev­
eral ways to find out about them. You can read the rules and
regulations in the employee handbook. You can read the posters
around the company. You can also ask other workers.
There are three kinds of safety rules: rules about clothing, rules
about supplies, and rules about procedures. Rules about clothing
tell you about things you should and shouldn’t wear. Rules about
supplies tell you how to handle dangerous products. Rules about
procedures tell you about things you should and shouldn’t do.
You should follow safety rules. If you break them, your super­
visor will think you are careless and will be very unhappy with you.
